For example, I feel like not enough volume/projection is reflected for this section compared to the bass side while playing anything from f-fff. ![]() It sounds to me almost as if the middle section of the sample is recorded from a further distance than the rest of the notes or lacks some kind of clarify, volume, and timberal change.Īnother problem I found is that while the bass is very powerful, from middle C to 2-2.5 octaves above, the velocity curve doesn't feel acceptable to me compared to an acoustic or most other digitals I've owned. I've tried to turn off and on binaural sampling for headphones but found it to be a problem with or without it. I found this to be the case for both the CFX and Bosendorfer sample, and I've tested with the built in speaker, custom reference in ear monitors, Sennheiser HD650, cheap Sony headset and they all exhibit the same problem. My biggest problem is that the mid section, from middle C to one to one and a half octaves above, the sample sounds significantly dull, recessed, and quiet compared to the rest of the notes of the keyboard. As such, I couldn't test out the piano like I usually do, but since I've owned many many Yamaha stage and digital pianos, and read so many great reviews, I had my heart set on one and made the order which arrived this weekend. I had been looking for this model for over 6 months since it has been out of stock in my area for many months and pre-orders had an indefinite (and very long) delivery estimate. ![]() And unfortunately, I am very disappointed. I finally managed to get my hands on a P515 after reading so many rave reviews online.
