Here is a link to the roster the Blue Jackets used for the game, with Columbus dressing many of its NHL regulars for the game. … Pittsburgh dressed just two players - forwards Danton Heinen and Ryan Poehling - who skated in more than 50 NHL games a season ago. Columbus finished with four power-play goals over the two games on the day. NotableĪssociate coach Pascal Vincent ran the CBJ bench after Cleveland Monsters coach Trent Vogelhuber led the way for the game in Pittsburgh this afternoon. Columbus settled things down from there and made it 5-1 late with a power-play goal as Danforth one-timed Gaudreau's pass into the top corner. The Blue Jackets didn't have the same sharpness to their game early in the third and were bailed out by goalie Jet Greaves a number of times early in the frame before Jordan Frasca wired a wrister home from the slot to make it 4-1 with 11:51 to go. Then at 13:32, it became 4-0 when Gus Nyquist completed a long shift in the zone with a sharp-angle shot past Tokarski. Laine tallied 8:03 into the frame when he one-timed Andrew Peeke's cross-ice pass by Tokarski, then Voracek tallied a power-play goal just 64 seconds later when he whacked home a rebound off a shot by Danforth. Danforth got to the net and was there to tip Jake Christiansen's shot from the left point past goalie Dustin Tokarski to make it a 1-0 game.Ĭolumbus got better as the first went on and fully hit its stride in the second, taking a 4-0 lead and dominating the shot count 16-7. The Blue Jackets were outshot 13-7 in the first period but grew into the game and also got on the board first with Justin Danforth's tally 7:15 into the game. Elvis Merzlikins stopped all 20 shots he saw in 40 minutes of action.Patrik Laine and Gus Nyquist also scored.Justin Danforth had two goals and an assist, while Jakub Voracek (1-2-3) and Gaudreau (0-3-3) each added three points.

The lyrics " Moi, je t'offrirai des perles de pluie venues de pays où il ne pleut pas" ("I'll offer you rain pearls from lands where it does not rain") are sung to a theme borrowed from the second part, Lassan (Andante), of the Hungarian Rhapsody No. He knew, he said, that it would give pleasure to women who assumed it was a love song, and he understood that. In a 1966 interview, Brel said that "Ne me quitte pas" was not a love song, but rather "a hymn to the cowardice of men", and the degree to which they were willing to humiliate themselves. Brel recorded "Ne me quitte pas" again as the title track of his 1972 album. In 1961 a Dutch-language version sung by Brel was released on the Philips label entitled " Laat me niet alleen", with lyrics by Ernst van Altena, it was a B-side to Marieke (also a Dutch-language version). I have seen Nikon D7000 histograms (ISO 800) with a slight secondary peak at around 400 (for a 14bit raw) which corresponds to 100 for a 12 bit raw. that the Pentax is clipping in a very similar way to the Nikon. If instead, the x-axis range is set to say 3 to 222 (like the Nikon) you'll again see the main result is a right hand tail of the bell curve i.e. The pixel range being displayed (the x-axis) is from 37 to 222. I don't know the explanation for that but when you examine the y-axis scale you realise this secondary peak only involves a relatively small percentage of the total pixels - it is a peak that exists in the higher value pixels. In the Pentax distribution there is definitely some kind of secondary peak at around 100. You can definitely see in the Nikon graphs that only the right hand tail of the bell curve exists. This is my interim report and getting excited.Īll credits go to these talented developers. There seems to be a way to completely defeat the camera processing, but we'll have to wait. However if you want to do shorter exposures e.g. to achieve the same signal-to-noise ratio in the final stacked image.Īs an aside, read noise is not usually a factor because exposure length can be increased until the noise from sky background or from thermal noise dominates the read noise. ![]() ![]() In such situations, the overall quantum efficiency of the sensor is more important than the dark current or the read noise.īut if you are imaging at slower F-ratios, or on a warm night, or have very dark skies then the thermal noise might well be the dominant source of noise and so I would agree it could well be the case that you would need fewer sub-exposures from a low noise camera than you would from a higher thermal noise camera to get the same overall image quality i.e. In my own case, my main usage is full colour imaging on a fast (F/2.8) scope and I find the noise from the light pollution swamps the thermal noise and read noise (my sky is around mag 5.5 or so). It depends on what the main limiting factor is in your images i.e. Unfortunately the answer is: "it depends". Yes, but based on your observations of the reduced noise - read and thermal - wouldn't you need less light images to achieve the same results as a camera with significantly more noise? If so, I just wonder if there is that much more imaging time required - at least until we get a suitable hack? ![]() Thank you for reading this article, I hope you found it useful. We started by searching on Bab圜enter's Community, where moms and dads trade brutally honest reviews, particularly about anything having to do with precious baby sleep. Naturally, we hoped to deliver the former experience to our readers, so we went looking for the very best sleep sacks: comfortable for babies, made of soft, washable fabric, and equipped with zippers or other fasteners that make diaper changes easier. But small differences in design and fabric make them easier than others, or provide you with a steady stream of small hassles. How we chose the best baby sleep sacksīaby sleep sacks all do the same job: they keep your baby warm safely. But if your newborn isn't a fan of her swaddle (some babies aren't!), it's also fine to skip swaddling and move right to a sleep sack, Dr. The AAP recommends discontinuing swaddling as soon as your baby shows signs of rolling over, which typically happens around 2 months. Most babies make the move to a sleep sack once they've graduated from swaddling. "In my opinion, they do not provide a long-term benefit in the overall quality of a young baby's sleep." Transitional sleep sacks are designed to bridge the gap between a newborn swaddle and standard sleep sack that doesn't restrict a baby's arms.Hamilton sees weighted sleep sacks as belonging in the same category. The AAP recommends against using weighted blankets for infants, and Dr. ![]() ![]() Manufacturers claim weighted features can be soothing for babies, but many experts warn against them. Weighted sleep sacks have added weight to provide gentle pressure. They're designed to be used for newborns who are still young enough to be swaddled. Swaddle sleep sacks leave a baby's legs free but secure their arms with Velcro straps.Sleeveless sleep sacks are similar to their standard counterparts, but are sleeve-free to help babies stay cool. They can be made of different materials including cotton, muslin, wool, or fleece. Standard sleep sacks are sleep sacks with long sleeves and a zipper closure.Hamilton notes, so the type that you choose is largely a matter of preference. Most of them can be safe and effective, Dr. But today there are many different varieties you can pick from. The term "sleep sack" was first popularized by the Halo brand in the early 2000s. "From my experience, sleep sacks help babies sleep." Hamilton, MD, FAAP, a pediatrician at Providence Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California. "As babies get bigger, swaddling with a thin blanket becomes more challenging, and this is where sleep sacks have benefitted young parents," says Dr. Many pediatricians and parents find that sleep sacks help babies snooze more soundly too. A sleep sack or wearable blanket is a safe way to keep your baby warm, says the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), since it won't potentially slip over your baby's face and obstruct breathing. Conventional blankets shouldn't be placed in your baby's crib until at least her first birthday to reduce the risk of SIDS. Sleep sacks, also called sleep bags, are winners for a few important reasons. Once your baby has graduated from sleeping wrapped burrito-style in a swaddle, you can then keep her cozy in a sleep sack, a wearable blanket that fits like a mini sleeping bag on your baby's body. |
